Coaches have nominated the top male or female senior athlete for each varsity sport, making a total of 63 nominees.  The varsity sports are Football, Volleyball, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Golf, Cheerleading, Boys & Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Boys & Girls Indoor Track, Boys & Girls Swimming, Baseball, Softball, Boys & Girls Soccer, Boys & Girls Outdoor Track, and Boys & Girls Tennis.  A total of 21 male and female athletes from each school will be recognized for their excellence and achievements.  The nominees for each award will be listed in the program, but winners will not be revealed until the night of the award presentations.
The highlight of the evening will be a Grand Award to one male and one female as “Athlete Scholar of the Year,” selected from candidates nominated by the Athletic Directors of each high school.  These winners are distinguished not only as outstanding athletes, but also as scholars and community leaders.
This annual awards program was begun by the Bedford Rotary Club in 1996 and is sponsored by Bedford area citizens and businesses.  The net proceeds of the program have been and will continue to be used by the Bedford Rotary Club to support many local charitable activities such as: Bedford Dictionary Project, Bedford Christian Ministries, and the Bedford Science & Technology Center Scholarships to name a few.
The program includes the award presentations and a keynote address will be made by Caleb Buchanan.  Mr. Buchanan, Vice President for Centra Health, is a Liberty High School graduate and inductee to the Liberty High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Following the award presentation there will be a reception for the students, their families and coaches.
