“Big Times 5”, a new exhibit by the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, will be
featured at Goose Creek Studio during the months of May and June. An opening
reception with the artists will be held during 2nd Friday in Bedford, May 12, 5-8 pm.
The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, so named because they travel the double
lined roads of southwest Virginia to paint and display their work, is a group of artists
from the Roanoke area who paint together and work together to support and promote
each other’s creative endeavors.
“Each one of us accepted the challenge to paint big,” says artist member Linda
Schaar. “All the members of the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge have
completed a painting that measures 36 by 48 inches. The paintings vary from
realistic to abstract.”
“We are excited to share this new work in the front gallery space at Goose
Creek Studio,” adds artist member Mary Anne Meador. “Members of the
Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge include myself, Linda Schaar."
