On Second Friday, August 115-8 pm, Goose Creek Studio will be debuting a new series of paintings by Bedford artist Suzanne V. Paddock.  Whether depicting a still life of common objects, a companion animal, or her oft-painted muse, Abraham Lincoln, Paddock imbues a sense of wonder and mystery in her oils on canvas.  This new series, titled “Sacred Life,” explores the power of creation and destruction – how nature reclaims death to create new life.
“There is something breathtaking about the mystery of birthing into and dying out of this reality,” says Paddock.  “The is something important about the fact that beauty does not equal good, and ugliness does not equal bad.”
Suzanne V. Paddock’s home studio in Lynch Station is a site on the Bedford Artisan Trail.  She also has studio space at Bower Center for the Arts and her work is exhibited at Blue Ridge Animal Hospital, Old Jail Hill Art Space on the 2nd floor at Goose Creek Studio, and 2nd Helpings in Roanoke.
Goose Creek Studio Gallery and Custom Framing is located at 302 Court Street in Bedford.  For more information, see or call (540) 586-8482.
