DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us for "Full Pond Day" on March 7\, 2016 as we celebrate Smith Mountain Lake's 50-year anniversary. The event takes place from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Smith Mountain Lake State Park\, Discovery Center\, 1235 State Park Rd.\, Huddleston.\n\n\n\nThe event features a dedication/unveiling ceremony for three new Virginia historical highway markers located in Bedford\, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties. The markers document the establishment of Smith Mountain Lake back in 1966 and recognize its economic significance to Southwest Virginia.\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, Virginia General Assembly H.J. Res. 36\, which commends SML on its Golden Anniversary\, will be presented.
