Bedford Chamber of Commerce Hosts Awards Tribute
Bedford, VA: The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce along with title sponsor, Boxley Materials and WFXR presenting sponsor hosted its Annual Awards Tribute virtually on September 2nd at 4 pm and announced their 2019 Excellence in Business Winners.
Annual Dinner is usually held in March and is the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce’s premier social event of the year but due to the pandemic it was moved to September and changed to a virtual event. It is held annually and open to both the members and to the public. Annual Dinner is the Chamber’s largest fundraising event of the year and all the proceeds go towards the Chamber and helping strengthen their programs and services.
The Annual Business Awards Tribute features the “Excellence in Business Awards” that recognize local businesses for their successes for the previous year. They announced the winners of 7 categories on the virtual Business Awards Tribute and the categories are: Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Agri-Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the year, Citizen of the Year, and two new categories were, Outstanding Service Award and Rising Star.
Another large part of this fundraiser is their Silent Auction. The Silent Auction will also take place in September to make up for having no event in March. The funds will go toward the Chamber to help strengthen their programs and services for our businesses.
As the BACC entered 2019, they refocused on their mission and re-aligned their programs and services to help get back to the basics of networking and growing the region’s workforce.
