2023 Ribbon Cutting - Bedford Community Christmas Station
About the Bedford Community Christmas Station (BCCS)
Bedford Community Christmas Station is a community-oriented 501c3 non-profit that assists low-income residents in the Bedford County, VA community by providing gift choices in seasonal programs and pantry items year-round. Serving families in an atmosphere of choice and dignity is our highest priority.
Our programs include Christmas Selection eXpress, Shoes for Students, Winter Coat Closet, Food Pantry, & Easter Eggstra. Our Fundraising Station is open from March through September and provides affordable shopping for gently used and new merchandise; these sales provide needed funds to purchase merchandise for our programs.
Why Celebrate?
We were blessed to receive generous grants and donations, as well as work provided by the Mountain View UMC Missions Team in 2021 and 2022. Because of this, we were able to make much needed repairs and updates to our building. We've received a new roof, insulated front windows and doors, signs on the front and side of the building, flooring, interior and exterior paint, office renovation, upgrades to the break room, two new refrigerators and freezers, and a generator. We are very excited to invite community members to this ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate with us!
Event Details
Join us at 12 p.m. for the ribbon cutting ceremony, led by the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce! After the ribbon cutting, the Bedford Community Christmas Station will keep its Fundraising Station open until 4 p.m. for normal shopping and an open house featuring hors d'oeuvres and tours.
Community members are encouraged to come check out the Bedford Community Christmas Station, celebrate their major renovations, and enjoy a fun afternoon of free food and shopping for a great cause!
