Health Fair offered
for Vets and Families
 
 
A free Health Fair for veterans and their families will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Bedford Campus of CVCC.  The fair is offered by Bedford’s American Legion Post 54.  In addition to free vision, skin cancer, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, participants can ask questions of over 30 health and military service providers. 
 
Exhibitors at the fair will include Military Family Support Center, Mil-Vet Advocacy Project, Wounded Warrior, Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital, Lynchburg College Physical Therapy Department, Bedford Community Health Center, Mental Health America, Bedford Ride, and the Bedford Area Family YMCA.  Information will be available on securing mobility equipment, aging in place, nutrition, group support and counseling, caregiving and pediatrics.  There will be activities for children.
 
The health fair is open to both active and inactive military personnel.  The American Legion Post is being assisted by the Bedford Community Health Foundation.  The Bedford Campus of CVCC is located at 1633 Venture Blvd, right off Independence Blvd.
